I've just set Kontakt up for the first time. RTAS is installed, I set up the MIDI and Stereo Aux tracks as instructed, and I'm getting a reading when I play my keyboard, but nothing out of the Aux track and, of course, no sound.
MIDI Out is set to Kontakt2 and MIDI In is set to my keyboard controller. Aux audio In is set to the 5/6 where my keyboard connects. One thing I noticed is that in the audio track on the input dropdown, I have a grayed out "Kontakt2 - Aux 1 - insert a" and cannot select it. I assume that's normal. It lets me select it if I remove the insert plugin. I'm at a loss. Sometimes the RTAS Kontakt plugin will let me play the virtual keyboard, but other times it won't. Thanks for helping a newbie figure this out! |

Which version of Kontakt ?
Which version of PT ? I'm assuming you enabled REC on the midi track (or you won't hear anything. Also check that midi thru is enabled (midi menu) |

rec enable the midi track, raise the fader on the aux track and make sure MIDI THRU is selected in the midi menu. Also, and this is the weird part, select an Input on the aux track even though none are actually used, Kontakt likes to see an input. latly, make sure Kontakt has an instrument loaded and it is not muted.

Thx for the tips. I made sure to have all these covered, so, MIDI track is R-enabled, Aux track fader up and input selected, MIDI-thru on, bypass 'off' in RTAS, instrument selected in Kontakt.
I'm on PTLE 6.9 and Kontakt 2.0.2.007. For whatever reason, it has started working this morining. What I changed was the way I loaded in the instrument. Still learning this; perhaps I loaded in the wrong part of the file (converting .gig files) even though the rack appeared to show it as an instrument afterwards. Only issues now are: 1) Keep getting error "the patch contains volatile samples from a previous import! Re-save samples?" after the instrument's been loaded for a few mins., and 2)SoundFonts I load in won't play in stereo. Maybe SoundFonts aren't able to play stereo through Kontakt? |
