Question SC 48 remote rack and two AT 16 A-Net

Can the SC 48 running the 3.0 software with:
the remote rack and ethernet snake card,
four AI 16 analog input cards (48 inputs)
one AO 16 analog output card (16 outs)
work with two AT 16 A-net cards (to give me 2 discrete 16 channel aviom systems?
I'm currently running the SC 48 as a monitor console with 2.9 without the remote rack, 48 inputs, 16 analog output, and 1 AT 16 A-net aviom card. All 16 aviom channels are filled up, all 16 analog outputs are filled and I need more mixes (without spending the money I don't have for a profile system).
I was wondering running the new 3.0 software having the extra auxes can I get more outputs by adding two AT 16 A-net cards or two AO 16 cards in addition to all the cards i have now????

V3 will give you 24 auxes, plus you will still have your matrix and main outputs.

But,

There are only 3 bays in one stage rack. You would need 2 stage racks for this to work in a cool way, meaning all input cards together.
One rack would be filled with input modules (3 x 16 channels) and the other would be filled with output cards (2 x aviom + AO 16). Desk would then only carry a snake card and the FOH IO card.

Or

If you use your one stage rack only as an expansion unit for additional output card, then you could keep two input modules in the desk (one of three needs to go to free one unit for the snake card), keep your 2 x Aviom cards in the desk and put the removed AI in the stage rack + AO in the stage rack too. That way you would have all IO with just one rack, but you would end up splitting inputs between the desk and the rack and you know how convenient that is, right Then again, if your input list is typically less than 32 channels that might work great for you and save you money.

I haven't personally tried this but I see no reason why it should not work. Anyone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I know physically it will hold the cards but:

I need to know if the SC 48 with mix rack running V3, architecture allows being able to have a second AT 16 A-Net card that would "create multiple, discrete 16 channel networks" like the venue mix rack indicates as an option?

or

If the SC 48 with mix rack running V3, architecture allows 24 physical aux outs (that would leave 8 physical outs open if there was two AO 16 cards) plus the 16 channels of Aviom from one AT 16 A-Net?

The SC48 is used as a monitor console and I don't care what cards are where, the remote rack would be racked close by. There are 4 open input channels left which is fine (I can feed whatever extra is needed down to it)

In a nut shell: can the SC48 with mix rack running V3 have: 48 inputs, 16 outputs, and two AT 16 A-Net working?

or:

48 inputs, two AO 16 (only 24 outs will be needed) and one AT 16 A-net?

SC48 (standard or remote) supports a total of 3 input cards (AI16) and 2 output cards (AO16, XO16, and/or AT16), for a total of 48 Stage inputs and 32 Stage outputs. Each card provides 16 channels of "Stage" inputs or outputs depending on the card, so called because they are patched under the "Stage" tab in the Patchbay.

However, if you have an SC48 Remote system, you can install two AT16 cards--one in the console and the other remote (or both remote, which would require two Stage 48s), then install an IO16 card in slot E of SC48. IO16 gives you 16 more inputs (8 AES digital and 8 1/4-inch line) and 16 more outputs (8 AES and 8 1/4-inch line).

So, for a Remote system with a single Stage 48 rack, you could do the following:

SC48 (slots A is empty and cannot be filled, slot B has the Snake card):
  • 1 Input card in slot C of SC48
  • 1 AT16 card in slot D of SC48
  • 1 IO16 card in slot E of SC48
Stage 48 (remote rack)
  • AI16 input card in top slot
  • AI16 input card in middle slot
  • AT16 card in bottom slot

This is just an example configuration--but if does seem to accomplish what you desire.

Yes, SC48 support up to two output cards in any combination. You can mix/match cards, or use two of the same card, including AT16. Two AT16's would then give two discrete, 16-ch Aviom networks.

Sheldon, will the SC48 with the remote rack running V3 be able to give me 16 outs with the AO-16 and with the two AT 16 A-net cards give me 2 discrete 16 aviom mixes at the same time?

That exact config isn't supported, but it may still be possible to get the inputs you need.

The max number of outputs in the system - whether located in the console, or remotely in the Stage 48 - remains 32 (equalling 2 x AO16, 2 x AT16, or a combo of both). For additional outputs an IO16 card can be used in the console, which gives 8 x analog TRS and 8 x digital AES.
