002 Rack loses communication with computer

I have recently installed the necessary downloads to allow SP2 (6.4cs9)and free bomb factory plugins. Since then my DAE (002 rack) will either not connect or loses connection while I'm working. When this happens the DAE goes to the condition that occurs when first powered up but not fully booted i.e. mute LED red and no sample rate or 1394 lights. I have tried all the optimization and compatibility suggestions in the general troubleshooting thread. I even uninstalled the updates and SP2. No help. Could this be a hardware problem? Should the sample rate LED come on and stay on even if the computer is off? I think it used to.

Csll tech support and they'll overnight a new power supply harness...they even sent me a new power supply.

Has anyone tried Deox-It on the harness? I've used it for years, with much success, on consumer electronics. Helps with all kinds of contact problems.

There was an interesting article in one of the trade magazines recently (MIX or EQ I think) about how there's been a dramatic upgrade on those molex connectors to ensure more actual physical contact area. Again, calling tech support for a replacement harness is FREE..they overnighted mine at no cost, even sent me a new power supply. It was a 30-minute fix and I've never had another problem. Like Andy Griffith said.."CALL THE MAN...."

Thanks. I'll get a new harness. I hit mine with Deox-It and it's been working fine since.
