Default Recording guitar track

Hi
When I record my guitar plugged straight into the Digi001 - I can only record two tracks. If I want to do more fills or rhythm stuff I have to move to the second mic input and continue. Is there a way to just keep my guitar plugged into the first mic pre-amp and record as many tracks as I want?
thanks

Yea, read the free downloadable PDF manual available from Digi. It'll tell you wonderful things, like creating new tracks and assigning i/o.

Answer the question, my friend! Read the manual is a die out answer.

You can select the input for each track as you add it. Just add a new audio track and select the input that you have your guitar plugged into ( Mic1 or whatever you have it named)as the input for the new track. The record enable the new audio track and wail away. Does that make sense and answer your question? Hope this helps.....

I do that. My guitar lead has never come out of that socket. (I'm worrying now if it's rusted into place..)

I post here to mention that I'd read somewhere that channel 2 gives better quality than channel 1. Never tested it out myself though.
