Newbie with a quick question - Y or N Answer?

I am about to purchase a Dell 8500 Laptop - 2 quick questions:

1) On board is a Pentium 4 processor not a Pentium 4-M processor (which is noted in the compatible page only) - will this be a problem for me?

2) Dell 8500 does not come with "Intel Hyper-threading" - Is this ok since you are disabling it anyway?
