Default Waves Central sees no USB flash drives after update

Hi there

Anyone else who has this problem?

On Windows 10, Waves Central automatically updated to the latest version when i launched it yesterday.
I wanted to move all my licenses from the cloud to a USB flash drive. But Waves Central doesn't show any of the USB drives I connected. They were all FAT32 formated. I reconnected them several times and even re-formated one of them. Still no success

I need the licenses on a flash drive because I'm still using Pro Tools 10 on OS X 10.9.5.
Now I can't continue work

I couldn't find this issue on Waves FAQ. I will write to support, but I don't have much hope that they answer soon.

I would open a support case with Waves, traditionally, they respond fast in the middle of a week(in my experience, I have had replies from them within hours) It may also be worth going to the nearest Staples or Best Buy and buying the smallest USB memory stick(smallest because Waves needs almost zero space on the drive, but buy whatever size you like). FWIW, I have had 1 or 2 of these things just quit for no good reason.

If things are still not happy, I would uninstall Waves Central, then download and install the latest(the fact that WC is not finding a USB stick suggests that the WC install is corrupt). Last thing to try: If you have Samsung Magician software installed, remove it(in the past, this has caused all USB drives to disappear for me).

Also worth checking if it works on Mac, so long as you have the licenses on the stick it does not matter which machine you used to put them there. Maybe it is a Windows problem?

Thank you very much for your hints.

I'm quite sure that the USB flash drives are ok. I tried more than one and they all work fine for storing stuff on it. And one of them is also used for Plugin Alliance authorization, and there's no issue with that.

A month ago or so I did the same thing with the same stick and it worked fine. But no luck after the update of WC.

I think it's really an issue with the latest version (this came by auto-update when I started Waves Central), or maybe with a recent Windows update.

WC simply doesn't react to any USB flash drive on Windows anymore.

On OS X it says "syncing... don't disconnect USB flash drive" whenever I plug the stick. But this is a legacy WC version. And sticks activated with it didn't work with Pro Tools any longer.

Sadly I don't have any recent OS X where I could run the latest WC. I stick with PT 10 HD because of all the PT hardware (controller, I/O...).

I will try to completely uninstall all Waves stuff and then give it another try.

Hi, thanks for the link. This is exactly what I'm trying to do. But it's not possible when the USB flash drive is not showing up in the Waves Central...
