This is exciting to me!
The real question is how long will it take Avid to be running natively on it?
There seems to be no need for a Mac Pro tower anymore?!
Will Avid make a new HD Native with DSP? Do we need DSP anymore?
Will Avid increase it's native i/o to 128 or 256? LOL I know it took them forever to give us 64.

Talking to my Apple business rep tomorrow.
Cheers
Eric

It's great, but 64 GB of RAM still isn't enough for serious sampled-orchestral scoring, so looks like I'll keep waiting for a silicon Mac Pro, so that maybe we'll have the ability to boost the RAM

I would be shocked if not within 2021, as in should not be a long wait.

Makes sense.. Avid has had time with the first generation M1chips. We all knew this Mac Book Pro was coming.

Good catch. I just corrected the typo.

Probably true for those of you using sample based orchestral arrangements that need to be loaded into RAM. I've been using 16 GB RAM for the past few years and just happy that 64GB is now an option.

any faves ?

I'd rather have an ugly clip-on camera than that. remember those ?
absolute deal killer for me.
and what happens to menus in that area ?
imagine watching a fullscreen movie with a notch in the top.
According to the apple announcement, the menus will automatically adjust to avoid the notch, so menus should not be affected. I agree it is somewhat unsightly, but this is not a show stopper for me.

Humm ??
Considering that there is nothing in my Finder menu header or on the browsers I use that is in the center where the camera is .. And the Apps open below the menu bar ? Kinda doesn't really sound like an issue ? So I would think it more a design decision rather than a "flaw" But hey to each their own ..
