Default OWC Mercury Elite Pro AL

Is this pretty much the best FW HD for use with PT10 on a Macbook Pro with Mbox Pro 3?
(7200 64mb cache FW800/400)

Avid recommends an older model, was wondering if anyone has experience with the newer one

I have a couple, but I run them via eSATA.
No troubles.

I've been using OWC drives for quite a few years now. No problems to report at all. A few peeps I know use Avastor but for the price, I don't notice the difference.

I had one where the bridging chip failed after about a month of use, OWC replaced it, no questions asked, within a week and it's been running great since.
