OS Held off interrupts for too long?

As I was trying to bounce a recording to disc, it gave me that message. Said to increase buffer size in playback engine but I'm already at maximum 1024. Not sure what to do. Thanks.

Macintosh dual-processor but using an external hard drive for storage
OSX snow leopard

I've read other similar threads but don't see a solution. Posted 2 days ago with a recording problem delay but was able to solve that one.
