I also think that nobody is being snappy. Adjusting levels for every song is the most basic part of "mixing". Keeping knobs consistent actually is fairly easy if you adhere to a target level for everything you record(which is what experienced engineers do). Using Clip Gain is a perfectly viable solution, so I'm not sure why you are reluctant to at least try it. Normalize may also work fine for you, but having tried it many times, I prefer Clip Gain(but maybe 35 years of experience is the reason). There is lots of great info throughout this thread so maybe give it another read through and experiment with all the ideas offered to find what works best for you. Remember, the great thing about digital is; there's four ways to do something. The bad thing about digital is; there's four ways to do something

It is the imperfections in performance and production that create the nuances we love.
Perfect is soulless and bland.

So I figured out there this plugin called defaulter made by quiet art that's good for this. Kinda hard to figure how to use though. And is $90.

What you're saying is that the volume in one clip in a song should be lower than the other.
You don't know what you're talking about.

Defaulter is a plug in in the category of processing I described:

"loudness normalization" - I honestly suggest just learning about LUFS before jumping into a plug-in expense.

You can do it with a compressor, your ears, and a sound meter, for cheap cost and great quality.

Or you can do it cheaply in terms of quality for $90. Up to your work flow. Maybe a little learning is all that's needed, maybe you just want the plug-in work flow.

Steady now.
Calm down.
That paragraph was not an insult.
Good luck with your mission.

Careful now.
He / she might take offence at your suggestion of learning.
