Wow, this is crazy. Sorry about the surface not powering on! To set up a repair call 650-237-1700, then option 4, then option 3.

Great news about getting EuControl to launch though. Please follow up when your surface is repaired. Hopefully, things will be smooth at that point.

I notice this just happened after upgraded protools 11 hd to the latest, before was pt 11.1.2 , and i just upgraded yesterday and problem started, I hope this helps.

well, I downgraded eucontrol to 3.1.0(next down) same thing with protools to 11.1.2, and so far problem solved, working flawlessly. Will stay there for a while, I love stability.

Checking back in... Sent Artist Control to Avid for repair (finally), upgraded firmware... And I am in Fader Control Heaven.

Hi all

I got the mentioned connectivity issue just sorted out just by following this thread. So many thanks for the distributors before me!

To put it in short:

I went from the Finder
/go/Go to folder...

and from there I typed

/usr/local/

From upcoming window, you should see folder labeled "lib" with tiny red minus tag.

Right click the "Lib" -folder and "get info"

From the upcoming window choose "Sharing & Permissions" at the lower part of the window, and check that you (username) have Read&Write access to the "Lib"-folder. If the access is missing, just create it from the "+" sign at the lower left and give it read&write access. If there are entries in the Sharing & Permissions list for users or groups besides "me," "staff," and "everyone," delete them.

This is an old issue but not enough info out there on a solution so I thought I would create a post for Macs, maybe can figure from this if you have a PC.


I mistakenly installed the Avid EUCON 3.1.2 because I was looking for iPad control for my ProTools IO interface and it crashed ProTools IO interface and caused issues for LOGIC Pro, here is how I resolved it.


Macintosh HD > USERS > shift + command + . Then see screenshot for path


Delete these two files below (culprits) as well as the rest of the EUCON and EUPHONIX files I found on the computer in other screenshots.
