Default Plugin for calculating RMS?

Hi there--

I'm kind of new at Pro Tools and I need a meter of some sort that shows my RMS of a track I recorded. I've looked at the plugins and I was told there was a free one that showed the RMS but for the life of me, I can't find it. Can anyone help? I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

If you're on PT 10 you can use Phasescope

Not at all. Try hofa4u free plugins and see if they have something. If not, you'll be able to get a good meter from waves or tens of other companies.

Here's a full-featured meter with history graphs and whatnot. Free. http://www.meldaproduction.com/plugi...udnessAnalyzer

could also use the included gain audio suite in rms mode…

(also, a lot of asterisks, and qualifications about how the metering
is calibrated ((sine wave- square wave)),
and dual mono vs stereo files, etc.;
many meters, like slate, get it wrong,
(the old free tt meter got it right)
so you need to learn the quirks of which meter you use.)

Also (though not as useful as some of the plug-ins mentioned), if you right click on any of your meters in PT11, you can choose the Venue RMS meters.

When the hell are Avid going to port the Phasescope over to PT11.

If they're not going to, they should at least add some of that metering to all versions of Pro Tools (BBC etc).
