Default Mbox - Recording Before Upgrade?

I've just gotten my Mac setup and will be installing a 6.3 or so (haven't checked to see, but was bought in '06) prelimarily before the upgrade, via online at Digidesign.

Is there a problem with existing files translating over into the upgraded version?

You can take files from an earlier session and import them to a new, current version.

You need at least 6.9 to use Mac OS 10.4.x.

6.2.2 wil work with 10.3.x

If you are on an Intel Mac, you need at least 7.1.1 and OS 10.4.x.

lol

Ok, since I have an Intel Mac (Mini), I guess I could do nothing else but purchase the new software?

This is ok because I happen to have come into some money which was unexpected. I hope it's not more than a few hundred bucks, but at least I'll have the latest version with guaranteed compatability.

Thanks.
