bug? I cannot find that confirmation in specs:
http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?...4&itemid=39392
so maybe it is still here?
Thanks,
It's fixed in 8.0.1. I think there's something else going on here - I'm talking this over with engineering and a few other people to see what else may be causing it.

I'll reply once I have more information on how to proceed...

Meat and x9blade - can you both post your most current Sandra reports, run on the system exactly as it was configured when you did your last test?

Can you also tell me what's in each of the slots on the computer?

Also, to get back to your first question Meat, regarding CPU usage you say you get high cpu usage:

Quote:
Pro Tools cpu meter reads 33% and my task manager reads 68%. Had a cpu overload error on 1 stereo track with 5 rtas plugs on it.
Are you saying you get 33% / 68% CPU usage with an empty session, or with the 1 stereo track wtih 5 rtas plugins? What is it like in 8.0 under those same circumstances?

Can you tell us which troubleshooting steps from the General Troubleshooting thread you've done, specifically? All drivers up to date, etc?

The task manager always reads 30-40% higher cpu usage then PT's cpu meter. When the task manager maxes out then the session is over.........but PT's meter says that i'm not near my limits yet.Now in 7.4 and all prior Pro Tools both meters read the same.I'm running 7.4 now and both meters read the same.

I wanted to clarify a few things about this error.

First, it's new behavior to 8.0.1 and is there to warn of driver conflicts that may lead to corrupt audio.

The error is resolved in most cases by making sure you have the latest drivers for all hardware installed on the PC, disabling any background processes or system services that may be causing driver conflicts or using up CPU time and disabling any extraneous hardware like network adapters, bluetooth, etc. that may interrupt Pro Tools.

In a few cases, reversing the card order in the computer solved the problem - we're still investigating the root cause of this.

I want to be absolutely sure everyone has done all this before proceeding. It's absolutely critical for us to properly evaluate your system and determine if there's something wrong outside of the scope of what we understand to be the fundamental cause of these errors.

I have done everything listed here: http://duc.digidesign.com/showthread.php?t=200069

except for:
reformatting the audio drive
disable remote desktop (work will not allows this)
disable automatic updates (work will not allows this)
