Default Thoughts/Experiences with Cloud Workflow

I've experimented using the cloud briefly and have a workflow suggestion/qualm... If I were working locally, I would save(as) new versions of my session somewhat often so that I'm able to revert if need be. While in the cloud, my experience has been, if I want to save a new version (save copy in), it automatically copies and uploads the audio files as well. I would like to save projects in the cloud without the requirement of duplicating the audio. This way, with true collaboration i.e. back and forth, I'm able to revert or import session data from a prior project; Make sense?

Are there not session file auto backups in the cloud?

Also, notifications would be useful so that I'm in the know when a collaborator uploads. The chat window is terrible fyi and misses letters often when typing "fast".

Please share your experiences, workarounds etc.

Perhaps no one is using the cloud, I will not be renewing my $10/month service but wanted to check it out.

Projects reflect the latest version. At this time you could Save A Copy... to create local backups or versions (Sessions). Tracks from those Sessions could be imported into the Project as needed.

Agreed, notifications and access to the Chat outside of Pro Tools are great suggestions. Please submit them via http://protools.ideascale.com/a/idea...campaigns/1087 if you can.

Others have reported this as well. Logged at http://protools.ideascale.com/a/dtd/239089-3779

This is kind of my experience. I love the idea of the cloud, but am just getting setup. It doesn't seem like there are a ton of users actually on the cloud.

I think this will just take time. You might want to check out sites like Kompoz, which are dedicated to online collab, and see if anyone is using PT with collab. It is so much easier if everyone can just work in PT rather than bounce, post files to the web, download, record, bounce... you get the idea.
