My personal opinion is DON'T get it from that website.

Try this instead.
http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/US2000/

Reasons.
1. Cheaper (exact same Item)
2. Free Shipping (3-5 days anywhere in the US)
3. Free 2 year warrenty
4. Free tech support

Sweetwater is the best place to get pro audio gear.

I'm not really a fan of Tascam products. Your better off with brands like Apogee, RMS, Metric Halo, Lynx, etc. but buget is a factor. I just got a Focusrite Liquid Saffire 56 but have yet to set it up tonight.

Not to hijack the thread, but I'm really curious about the Saffire 56 and am following a few discussions about it here and elsewhere. I have an 003 rack+ and feel it would be more of a lateral move. I'd like the additional digital inputs, and the ability to track at >48k using that and my ISA428. I also have a Universal 6176 (has a 610 preamp, which the Liquid pre emulates). I could ebay that for twice what the Saffire costs.

Most of the posts seem pretty positive after some initial setup headaches. Maybe once the rtas control software comes out next year I'll bite the bullet. Keep us all posted, Dragon. And David, good luck. It's now a buyer's market.

This Tascam unit would not be my first choice in this price range.

The Mbox Pro 3 is in that range. It has 8 ins. Some reason to count it out?

Tascam has always made good stuff. Not great, but good. Not pro, but good. Their digital stuff has not always played well with others.
