Default Adaptec 2930CU and PT6?

Does the Adaptec 2930CU card work with PT6?

OS/PT installed on IDE drive. Sessions on ADPT 2930CU/cheeta 18gig 10kRPM. I can launch PT6... file Open and select my SCSI drive ... hangs system and I have to press the panic button to restart OS.

Some more info: Tried to launch today and got a 6042 Error- PCI Bus too busy.

G4 400 AGP
OSX 10.4.2
PT 6.0.1
640MB RAM

I'm thinking it might be a firmware thing... how do I update a drives' firmware?

you would need to find the firmware first.
usually at the mfg site.
most cases, you just have to double click the exe, but there are some cases where you have to get deeper and usually they have a ReadMe file attached to the firmware.

Hello,

We don't support any Adaptec cards in OS X. We have seen 6042 errors, general system instability and noise bursts on playback with Adaptec cards in X. I would recommend getting a supported SCSI HBA. The two support cards are the ATTO EPCI-DC and the ATTO UL3D. Also, you will want to formatted and partition SCSI drives with OS X's Disk Utility. I hope this helps.

Mike
