Simultaneously-Controlling Multiple Plug Ins?
Instruments YES

EFFECTS- NO

Now which is Pro Tools about- Instruments or effects
Answer- Effects. If it cared about instruments it would have put high note low note in the track's midi input
And would have more than just the silly VIRUS as a TDM instrument
Pro Tools ain't for the creative musician, its for recording engineers

You do not know what you are talking about. With a supported Control Surface, Plug-In and Virtual Instrument control parameters, can be simultaneously controlled. If you argue otherwise reinforces your naivety.

Filosofem
I do know what I'm talking about

You are not being specific on the control. The Instruments use Midi and multiple instrument control can be achieved, but the effects plug ins don't use Midi and are not mappable by midi.
The effects have to use approved Avid controllers like the Axiom Pro with Hypercontrol, Or Novation AutoMap or a Euphonix device, and these devices can only control 1 effects plug in at a time. All are sizable devices and some need add-on software. To have to choose only from these controllers really limits the customers options. A workstation is a very personalized thing. I mean I would never play on Maudio keys, they're terrible.

And If you really want to control multiple effects plug ins at the same time, you need to have more than one controller. So how much space do you have on your station??? hope it's big

Take a breath and reread what has been said.

Hey Filo, I'm not sure where this "robinsonsdca" came from, but he's on a roll for getting threads locked, so I wouldn't waste your time arguing with him. He seems to think that all of the regulars on this forum are part of a conspiracy of Avid employees or something, and insists that suddenly all PT users want to use pro tools as a plugin.

If a MIDI event triggers a sample of a tree falling and there's no one there to hear it, does it make a sound?

Yeah, almost forgot. Been a while since we had one, and so far no one has lived up to the legend of the masterduk.

Unhappy Re: Learn Midi CC on Pro Tools 9

I have AKAI MPK49 - lovely midi controller

- and I can only use it for avid midi instruments ...

I can't use it with plugins/effects from avid or other companies.
Midi Learn - Not Working !

The purpose of midi controllers is to control knobs or faders instead of using mouse.

Any DAW can do it with right click but not the Pro Tools - WHY?

I would like to hear the answer from someone from Avid or Digidesign*!
- Do they care at all?

*not from some user with 100000 posts on this forum who own some big fat desk who tell me - "yeah you need to own control surface blah blah blah.." - yeah right - I need to own golden key to open pro tools and whatever else..

Since I don't have 100,000 posts nor own a big fat desk, I'll tell you, you need a supported Control Surface. An Axiom Pro is such a supported Control Surface.
