Can I Use a 003 Rack as an ADAT Pre?

Howdy everyone. I have PT 9.02 a 003 Rack, a Presonus FS 26x26 and a Presonus Digimax FS Preamp. I'm trying to use the 003 ADAT out as a source for the second light pipe in on the FS 26x26, this would allow me to record 24 channels or more in one pass for live use. I know both ADAT ins are working 'cause I've moved the other pre into both positions. I know the Digi 003 works fine when it's accepting ADAT IN, but so far nothing coming from ADAT out.

I'm Word Clock syncd to the FS 26, and have a green word clock light on the 003. I tried the Core Audio Manager for the 003, that didn't work either. I guess I could have a bad ADAT out on the 003, but that seems odd since everything works fine. Is there anything that can let the 003 function without being the top dog?

This is not possible using the 003, it's an interface only.

Thank you! At least now I know nothings broke, just a little light on features. Picking up a used Presonus Digimax FS to add the last 8.
