7.3.1 Record button doesn't flash during Quick Punch

I've worked on several different ProTool rigs in the past week. All PT rigs were running HD 7.3.1. CS2 on Macs.

I noticed that when a track is armed and ProTools is in play mode, the Record Button on the transport in the top of the Edit Window (as well as the ICON and Procontrol Transports) does not flash during Quick Punch as it did in all previous versions of ProTools.

Has this feature been purposely omitted? Or is this just an oversight that will soon be fixed?

Just went back and forth between to 7.2 and 7.3.1. several times.

Everything is okay in 7.2. Problem still exists in 7.3.1.

I varified this with the other studios. They are experienciing the same results.

Ok, i think i can see what you mean? with the transport running and you're in quick punch.

so before 7.3.1 the button used to flash when the transport was running?? then go solid red when punched in! but now it stays unlit when the transport is running.

The record light will only flash on a second machine locked to a master Pro Tools system during the Pre-Roll period. This has been a problem when using a second Pro Tools system as a Mix machine for ages. if you turn off the Pre-Roll The record light will not come on till the insertion point (assuming that you haver the "record at insertion point" enabled. This mayt be related to the problem you are seeing, but I cannot be sure as I am not near my TDM system at the moment. But I will look when I get to work and report back

Thanks for the reply Simon L....But I think you've missed the point. You're talking about a whole other unrelated issue.

Please read Chris's lastest post (just before yours). He nails the problem perfectly.

Again, DIGI....any fix on this?

Mine isn't flashing either.

Digi seems to have this theory of changing things for the sake of change.

Same with Automation on my control24.

The red lights used to blink until you touched the fader but now it's reversed. It's solid until you touch it, and then it blinks.

They're trying to drive us crazy. I know it.

I did understand your question, I was simply relating a similar problem that might have related to yours. I don't see this on my system in QP
