Default The Rookie is at it again!!(is it me or my cpu)

I'm back with another rookie problem. I have the power mac g4 with OS X 10.3 upgraded to 10.3.2,I'm using the digi 001 with PT. 6.1 with a 6.4 upgrade which i have not installed because every time i try to complete the 6.1 install my g4 shut down with the message "you need to restart your computer.hold down the power button" etc.I've read the compatibility page on protools.com I seem to be where I need to be from what i've read. I know that the highest PT. software I can run with the digi 001 is 6.4 and the highest OS X I can run is 10.3.4. What Rookie mistake I'm I making, is it me or is it something wrong with my equipment
pleasee save me from going back to a pc and the processing issues I ran into there. running out of loot to keep switching back and forth
thanx as always
Jaye (The Rookie)

Why are you trying to install 6.1? Just install 6.4 and you'll be fine. Since you've kinda mucked it up a bit by trying to install an incompatible version, you may want to check out the "General Troubleshooting" thread, speficially the area about deleting/uninstalling ProTools and preferences, that way you'll have a clean slate to work with when you run the 6.4 installer. It may not be necessary, but if you have problems with the 6.4 installer I'd give that a shot.

thanx, error on me. I screwed the install all up, didn't know you could do a full install from an upgrade cd, I figured you had to have "something to upgrade" so I installed pt 6.1 first, then I tried to upgrade it.Think that got it I'm up and running now. Thanx!! untill I screw up somethang else, think i'm installing reason next(ha!ha!ha! little jokey joke)
