PT Midi Issue!

I'm having an issue in PT where I play the notes I want from a synth using my controller, but when I actually hit play/record on the track in PT the notes sound completely different or out of key. When I play a sequence of notes using a sound from Reason, for example, without pressing play in PT, it sounds like a different key compared to when I press play or record. Does anyone know what the issue might be? I have a set of synth chords that I want to repeat later in the song but the duplicated track sounds different (another key) than the original track...

I get the same issue. I play on a midi controller and the notes are ok. As soon as I hit "play" on PT transport, the pitch seems to go up about a semitone. My setup:

Digi 002 Mixer
Roland midi interface to USB for controller
MOTU Traveler for AD/DA conversion via ADAT
iMac Core 2 Duo @3.06 Ghz, 8 Gigs RAM

A temporary workaround is to delete the Xpand2 insert and place another one. It works ok for a minute or so. And to make things worse, the plugins folder isn't recognized at times.

Any suggestions?

before they hosed the midi all up

Really? Is it a 9.0.4 issue? If so, I'm ungratefully in for a complete uninstall?!!!

I don't recall a 9.0.4.
I went from 8xxx to 9.0.5 and had lots of midi issues, couldn't even edit.
Went back to 9.0.2, then updated to 9.0.3 and all is good
Get true image and use it, you'll save time and stress

I'm on 9.0.4 now. I went up from 9.0.2 too, and I guess I'll go back to 9.0.2 and stay there, on the safe path. I'll report the results after the fact.

I have Pro Tools 8...if anyone finds the cause of this issue please post it. I have a project that I need to finish..

I used to have this problem with PT 8 and Pt 9.0, when I used the MIDI in/out on the MBox Pro 2. I switched to a MOTU Midi Express, which fixed the problem-but now I have stuck/hanging notes instead!
