Default Tape brought back with PT....great results...

The song below was on a tape reel laying around for 16 yrs, not even in a tape box. It was literally a closet tape. It's a demo done on a 1/2" 8-Track machine, and I almost threw it away a few times, thinking it was probably too old. (I had copies of the song, but they themselves became poor in quality before I realized it.)
Fredsparky (Michael McKibben) ran it from his 1/2 track machine into PT for me (which I truly appreciate), and I was amazed that all the tracks sounded almost new, although they were apparently compressed while being cut (lots of hiss).
Still they needed fattening up, so I sent them to Bastiaan, and he brought out the best in them with what was there. Then I tweaked what he sent me a little for a final mix.
There are only 7 tracks total(2 nylon string guitars, an electric piano, synth strings, drum machine, brushes, and vocal). But I made the most of what I used.
So thanks to Fredsparky/Michael, Bastiaan, and our friend Edith, who played percussion(brushes) in the Netherlands on it.
I wrote this to be country, not my genre, but it's a good song. Just thought it may interest some of you.
-Roy

This is one of the first tunes that my fiancee peeked her head out of the room and said, "That's pretty, what's that?!"

She's a farm girl; country tunes, mud-boggin', and triplets come second nature to her!

Just for the fun of it, i posted the version like it came from tape. This is ONLY mixed a bit. NO plugins or anything used.....

Hey Roy. Sounds great! If anyone else in interested in remixing 1/2- 8-channel, let me know. I've gotten behind in recording lately, but now I'm ready to start catching up with projects.

The song is pretty! It sounds like something from a movie. I have a few 16-track reels around here somewhere.
