Default Any Core 2 Duo Motherboards for HD3?

Are there any qualified or unqualified for that matter,
Intel Core 2 Duo Motherboards that will work with HD3.

That is, with 3 (Consecutive) PCI slots without obstruction
of a heat sink, battery, etc...

Bought a second system, $25,000 worth,
but can't find a PC that will run it.
Currently running a G5, but I need a PC!

Thanks,
Adrian

I am researching this one too..someone recently pointed this out on the UAD forum recently and seems to be having success so far, AsRock Conroe and this one is another i am looking at too, although i can't find a UK supplier at the moment Supermicro Conroe . Let me know if you try either of these before i do..i would greatly appreciate any findings!
Hope this helps,
Lifer

If you want to go with chipset being used on Mac Pro & other qualified XP rigs try the 5000X which is used for Xeon.
However it seems you can use it for Core 2 Duo chips also.

The difference I know about C2D & Xeon is the ability to use multiple CPUs rather than a single one. (I'm not talking about number of cores...)

Is there a 5000x chipset board for socket 775? Core 2 Duo?

The Xeons and the Core 2 Duos use 2 different sockets correct?

You're right.
It seems I was wrong. I could've swear I saw on Dell's web the ability to customize to Core 2 Duo chips.

I guess the only wise thing to do is get a 965 or older 975 rig to test.

Usually Digidesign just takes longer to fully qualify so much hardware.

One thing I can assure you is 965 is newer chipset than 975 and under LE we haven't seen any issues with it.

We've had great success with Intel Boards.
