Default Problem with PTLE 5 Files in 003

Here's a weird thing...

When I open old PTLE 5 files in my PTLE 7.3cs1, everything seems fine except that all my MIDI tracks have "none" selcted as the output selector in the edit window. (These old files had MIDI tracks that controlled a Roland XV-5080.) I know I have to select the 5080 again since this is a new version as far as the old project is concerned, and I know how to choose the new midnam file, but once I've done those things, the track still doesn't seem to remember which actual patch it was assigned.

I can get it to communicate with the module fine, but the data for which patch to play seems to be missing. All the MIDI tracks still just say "none" in the mix window patch box even once I've reconnected it to the 5080. I have to go through each track and see if I can remember which patch I used two years ago and select it manually, but sometimes I can't remember (and if I happened not to name the track anything other than MIDI 1 or something, it's a REAL pain).

Anyone know any trick to opening a PTLE 5 file in PTLE 7 that allows it to remember which patch and bank numbers it had? I never manually assigned any of that kind of stuff to the MIDI event list (and it's not there, I checked) because the track buttons in the mix window itself always remembered it.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks,
Allen Simpson
