I'm using an Mbox 2 on a PC with Intel Core 2 Duo - 2.13 GHz, 2 GB RAM, 500 GB hard drive. My problem occurs after I close out a session. In doing so, Pro Tools shuts down and of course, I then have to restart. It doesn't do it every time. I'd say 8 out of 10 times I close a session. It also does it with a variety of sessions. Not a particular song/session. Any help?

So it seems that it's only happening on the sessions where I'm using BFD Lite. I've opened/closed other sessions with no problem. Also, when I disable BFD, I'm able to close the session and open another with no problem. Any help now?

I tried downloading the update, but that only made my BFD quit working. What used to read "FXpansion BFD Lite" was then reading "BFD Lite." I tried using "BFD Lite" and I got an error in finding the right folder. After directing it to what I thought was the right folder, I received a a DAE error. So I uninstalled the update and BFD Lite v1.0 and reinstalled my original DVD. I'm still not sure what the problem is. Right now to fix my problem, I'm disabling the instrument track before I close the session. That seems to be saving me. Any other ideas of what could be going on? similar problems?

Have you tried trashing preferences yet? If not, start there and let us know if it helps at all.

I am having the exact same problem!
How do you "trash preferences"? And, how do I "disable a track" in the meantime to avoid restarting the computer every time? I'm using PT 7.0 with an MBox2 thanks, kyle.

The procedure for trashing preferences can be found in the General Troubleshooting thread which is "stuck" at the top of this forum.

Should you delete these on a regular basis?
