Default Use s1 to control trim plug-in

Hi there,

I can’t seem to find a way to make this work. I’d like to have to trim all my Audio tracks using the s1 when I start a mix. Since I can’t clip gain with the s1 (can I…?) I’d like to insert a trim plug-in on all audio tracks and use either the knobs or even better, the faders, to trim my tracks at the start of every mix. is there a way to do this?

thanks!

Default Re: Use s1 to control trim plug-in

Hmmm, this begs the question; why? Okay, the TRIM plugin should be addressable on the surface just like any other plugin(I don't have an S1 to check, but I know S1 can control plugins, so start there with the manual, or a video from youtube, groove3, etc).

Now, I also use the TRIM plugin on all my tracks, but here is why and how; Why? to lower an entire mix before it hits the Master track(or mix track if you work that way). I insert TRIM in the last slot on all AUDIO and INSTRUMENT tracks(it is not needed on AUX tracks if they are fed by post-fade signal). How? I have my TRIM plugin set to default to -8 and that works well 98% of the time(so I rarely need to touch them when I mix). I have all of the TRIM plugins in bypass during tracking and my tracking template has this set by default. When I am ready to mix, I take them all out of bypass and the entire mix drops, but the relative balance remains the same(and I can adjust here and there as I need). I would not suggest using TRIM plugins to create a mix(that's what the faders are for)
