Hi Eddie, Jeff, and guys.

We often come to this kind of forums to complain or just to solve issues but very few times to proclaim appreciation.

I updated both my pro tools and my S6 to 2021.6 and never ever in more than 15 years using Pro Tools on a lot of different and varying sizes I have felt so confident with the performance and assured by its reliability.

Everything has improved. My computer feels smoother and a little faster. All mixing operations are running faster too.

The custom map implementation seems a real step ahead in terms of usability but also with more UI feedback those features seem to show us that we probably have a nice path ahead to the S6's.

I agree. This update is a game changer. One question, is there a way to program the knob module when it's not in expand mode? Just the four knobs when you press dynamics.

Yes, you can either build a DYN knobset or if you build an Inserts one and set the pref to use it when in EQ/DYN it will show that instead. 1x8 is what you need to that area.

- Assignable knob in PT


EUCON 2022.6 (my hopes)

- Plugin instantiation on surface
- Plugin preset management
- Input process controls for MTRX line input gain level
- ???

Can you not already control the MTRX Input controls from the Input knobset of their channels? At least your expectations are based on some reality ;-)

I've been on the fence about a MTRX and it was a question I had, Jeff confirmed you cannot change the line input gain from the surface, just the mic gain, in this thread:

Nice Eddie! Is it on the s6/S4 documentation?
For exemple if I choose an dyn eq, is it possible to configure to load it eq parameters when I press Eq and so on?

Show EQ and DYN Plug-Ins on Surface as Inserts...
(Pro Tools 2021.6 and later): If you want to use Custom Knob maps created in the Inserts function when clicking on an EQ or Dynamics plug-in in Pro Tools, enable the Show EQ and DYN plug-ins on surface as inserts if there’s an Inserts Custom Map setting in the Attention section of Settings > User. You must also enable Plug-Ins under Attention Most Recently Clicked DAW
Area in the Attention section of Settings > User. When enabled, clicking an EQ or Dynamics plug-in on-screen displays its Custom Knob map on the surface as determined by the Home screen option Open Windows on Workstation When Knobs Assigned (such as the Master Module or Expand Knob module).
