MacBook Pro Retina 13" with Digi 003 and Pro Tools 11
Hi all,
I'm looking to buy new MacBook Pro Retina 13" Model to run Pro Tools 11 and the interface I'm using is a Digi 003 control surface. I noticed in the PT 11 system requirements that it mentions "The 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro may have performance problems and is not recommended for Pro Tools with FireWire interfaces" (avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/Compatibility/Pro-Tools-11-Qualified-Apple-Computers?retURL=%2Fpkb%2Farticles%2Fuser_guide%2F Pro-Tools-11-Documentation&popup=true). It seems to refer to the late 2012 model so does anyone know if the newer 13" Retina models work ok with the 003/FireWire devices? I'd be grateful for any feedback anyone has on this. Also if anyone is using any of the other MacBook Retina models with the 003 or other FireWire interfaces, I'd like to know how you find using them with the Thunderbolt to FireWire adapter and if there are any issues. Many Thanks. |
