Default Is the new Pro Tools 10 HD designed more for creating beats?

I've read where Pro tools is really geared towards mixing, recording, etc..But I've also read where it seems like the newer versions of Pro Tools is just as good for creating music as well. I don't own any software as of yet as I am looking to purchase. I was doing some research on it so I wanted the opinions of some you seasoned guys/girls out there to help me make a decision before purchasing. Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't really suggest that PT10 is any better for making beats than 8 or 9.

PT8 is really when the most significant changes to MIDI editing came along, as well as a few more included VIs.

sure... elastic audio and rex2 file import and integration is rather nice.!!

midi has a fair options set,.. i was actually considering running reason along
side pro tools for ease of composition process... but to be perfectly honest..
i dont see a need for it... its more of a hassle wiring it all up... so damn limiting
compared to pro tools...

Yeah it's awesome! You can make beats, and then add music on other tracks!
