Smile Pro Tools 9 & Mackie 1620 compatible? (PT9 should be free for registered users)

Hi there,
I just wanted to know if my Mackie 1620 (not the new 'I' model) would work with Pro Tools 9 as I can't really try it first?!
I have been tracking using Logic & then using my mbox micro to edit, then mixing from Logic (which I don't like!) and its a lot of 'bouncing around'!

It would be nice to think that i could use all 16 inputs from the mackie firewire into Pro tools and monitor & mix directly from PT9 back into the desk..
I'm glad I didn't get a new mackie oynx 'i' series as I would have just wasted my money to pay extra for M-powered only to find that PT9 should do the same thing?!

I think they should give ALL m-powered buyers a free upgrade as they have had to pay for the software! In fact, how many of us here have got 002's or 003's just to use the software, when there are so many better interfaces out there?! Pro Tools registered customers should not have to pay for this...arrrg!

Thanks

jeezus christ we are doomed.

Look at us. We are in the worst economic disaster in 100 years and we did it to ourselves by demanding the absolute cheapest products on the planet. We sold our future for some cheap plastic crap from china. The race to the bottom wont be complete until everything is $10 and all the jobs are in Vietnam or some [bleep][bleep][bleep][bleep]. [bleep][bleep][bleep][bleep] we suck.

I'm sure Avid are not in any 'economic disaster' or maybe Apple or Microsoft for that matter? I would rather pay for something, just not twice, that's all... You are right about cheap crap from China though... It's everywhere!

the price is reasonable

for one, The software is no longer LE, it's damn near HD to so many degrees lol.

and two if you pay the full you get a new and better ilok, and if you cross grade you get a huge deal that direction.

This is the way I look at it $249, $349, and $599 it doesn't matter how much or how little you spend, or if you get the crossgrade for free bundled with a 003 or mbox 3 on ebay with a free i lok, the price my friend isn't there to justify what the product is truly worth because man it's the industry stadard. They could make it a $5000 software and just ask for like a 1% royalty cut on movies and albums pro tools is used on. But they don't so the price just shows you who is truly serious about this business vs the people who go around stealing plug ins online and so on.
