How to uninstall/reinstall OS 9...
All I use is 0S 9.2.1. My computer is having problems freezing and I was told an uninstall/reinstall might fix the problem. I was told to save everything before I uninstall...how do I do this and how do I uninstall?
System: Sawtooth G4 02 9.2.1 1 GHz Sonnet 1 gig RAM 1 30 GB system drive 1 120 GB audio drive |

Re: How to uninstall/reinstall OS 9...
Use this. Very handy little app for 9.
You can Finder-copy your Applications folder, and any other stuff you want to keep. Use CIA to gather all the third-party stuff from your existing system folder. Copy all that stuff to another drive, initialize, and do a clean install of 9. Run all the OS updates. Then just Finder-copy your Applications folder back, and add all the system folder stuff back with CIA. You don't really have to initialize your boot drive, but it's a good idea IMHO. Especially if it's more than a couple years old. |
