Default Pitch dips on HDIO?

2013 Mac Pro, HDX in a Sonnet chassis, HD|IO 16x16. No sync peripherals, no external word clock.

Any reason why sometimes the pitch of the session I’m on (VI’s and a couple of audio tracks) might suddenly waver? Only slower, never faster.

Sample rate mismatch? If you have recorded 48k and playback 44.1k then it is slower.

Did you accidentaly hit shift-spacebar which triggers half-speed?
Sorry. I recently did it myself, and I needed a few seconds before I realized what happened.

It’s neither of those two. Though I wondered at first if it were Kontakt hiccuping because its SRC was wonky, I’ve heard it do it on audio-only sessions.

That's pretty odd. If that's true, then unlikely there's a software reason; seems likely to be hardware, and most likely spot would be the HD I/O. You're certain that HD I/O is on internal?

How far does it dip? For how long?

A good troubleshooting start would be if it does it when running on external clock.
