Default Xpand2 showing "None"

I have been through this site a few times now looking for this, but there does not seem to be a concise answer so I'll try again:

I just installed PT HD 9 from the box, updated to 9.0.2, did all the driver updates (before installing PT actually), upgraded my machine to OS 10.6.6, trashed all Pro Tools prefs (including the Xpand-specific one), ran Disk Utility, and then restarted. Everything works great so far, except that when I go to load a patch in Xpand2, I get the word "None".

My .Big file is in the proper folder (Applications>Digidesign>Pro Tools Creative Collection>Xpand2>Xpand2.big), and the file is 500.2MB on disk.

I use a 2 x 2.8 Ghz Quad-Core Intel Xeon G5 with 20 GB of 800 Mhz of DDR2 RAM. Like I said, I'm running OS 10.6.6 and my external drives are FW-800 1TB Glyphs. I am running Pro Tools HD 9.0.2 with one internal PCI card.

Based on the "Help Us Help You" doc, I think I've provided enough info to go on, but please let me know if you need to know anything else.
Thanks!
Cam

Hi,

The Xpand2 .big file should be 1.57 GB in size.

Run the PT9 full installer again and re-install the creative collection.

I have actually tried re-installing both the Creative Collection by itself and also PT 9 in its entirety. I now have a .big file that is 491 MB on disk. During both installs, the disk hung on the last "minute" of the install for about 5-10 actual minutes, but eventually it would indeed finish and I got the screen that said that the install was successful. Does this info help at all?

Hi,

I would download the PT9 full installer again incase its corrupted.

Manually remove the creative collection folder to the trash!!

Re-install the creative collection!

It doesn't seem to be installing correctly.

Because the install was from the actual disk, not a download, there was no way to get around the install "hanging" at the last minute and not properly installing the properly-sized Xpand2 file. Fortunately, we have another suite at our place and they WERE able to install everything okay, so I ended up simply copying the file to a thumbdrive from that computer and replacing the faulty one on mine. Not the perfect solution, but one that allowed me to get around what I'm assuming may be a moody DVD drive.

You're not alone, I had exactly the same problem. I did a fresh install from 8.5 then up to 9.0.2. Xpand2.big file only 46Mb. No hanging DVD drive here though. I had to copy .big file from another drive also.
