antares filter has very happily filled the void and then some where GRM tools used to live on my system! ... they've done some seriously good work on that plugin the filters sound great, locking to the session's tempo map is also a god send. The interface at first does seem a little daunting but once you get your head around it it's actually pretty comfy.

I absolutely love this plugin!

cheers,
marcus

I have the plug but have not installed it yet. I'd like to know what you do with it. Real world practicallity and application.

thanks,

Jim

run it as an insert on a track with an audio region. You then play with the filters and enhance or destroy the original sound.

Filters can be used for a great number of effects, from subtle to utterly demented processing (creating slow fliter sweeps on drums, bass, ring modulate, alter frequencies to modulate with song tempo, etc.). Try some of the presets to give you a general idea and tweak away, as there's no one way to use processors, much less with a filter plugin with so many paramters. Just like anything else, you'll have to use your ears. There's no Real-World application here, it all depends on your music and how it can benefit from it.

I like it, as mentioned earlier. Tons of presets to get you in the ballpark, almost too many, and the interface, well, it's over-the-top bling-bling tweak-this-and-that. I suppose it's a question of getting used to. Again, it sounds amazing, but I won't commit to it until I give FF a whirl.
