Having HD Native TB connected would cause my MacBook Pro to freeze when waking up from sleep, even if Pro Tools wasn't running. I think the HD Core Audio Driver doesn't like sleep either. If using 3rd party converters (i.e. no HDX or HD Native) and Pro Tools isn't launched, I don't see a problem with sleep.

As documented, sleep can cause interfaces to lose connections forcing restarts, and it can bring a kernel panic in some cases. I have friends who have issues reviving a slept Mac (Antelope interface), even with PT not running. Yes, it was an issue years ago, then it wasn't, and for some the issue has returned.

Yep, I've had this happen as well after an unintentional Sleep.

I always quit pro tools and turn off all the I/Os etc. And of course Never Sleep in the energy settings. I worry about power outages so I sleep the machines - and also because Apple seems to recommend this rather than shutting down every night.
On the old cheese grater, I would always quit pro tools if I was going to be away for a while. It used to freeze up if left to sit. I haven't tested that with Mac Studio.
Mac Studio is like a drugged up racehorse. It takes three 'sleeps' usually before it caves and settles down for the night.
Still on 2021.12. It's working great for me.
Never got a clear answer on the stability etc of 2022.5

When (or, rather, *IF*) my Studio arrives I plan on keeping it turned on. Low power usage during idle is sorta its thing, I've heard. And I sometimes access that machine remotely so this seems ideal.

However, given how quickly they boot up, perhaps it's just as easy to shut them down at night.

Pro Tools is quicker but I wouldn't call it a fast boot up. I attribute that to Rosetta. As far as how fast and powerful it is, most notable for me was how fast it processed Elastic Audio - like in a blink where in the past it was "Go get some coffee" time. And how, so far, it handles everything I've thrown at it with zero effort. Spitfire, Opus, Gullfoss etc seem to have no impact.

I meant the new Macs power on quickly.
