Eucontrol - Soft key commands fail on MacOS and WinOS

Using MacOS Pro Tools 2019.5 and the matching Eucon version.

Making my own Soft key commands in Eucontrol for the iPad user pages and the Dock vertical and horizontal strips. A simple single action like 'KEY command+T' works well , I think 100% of the time. However a longer string of actions very often fails part way through. Here's an example of a longer string of key commands that fails 50% of the time I try it :

KEY '
KEY shift+'
KEY option+f
KEY [

The assistant editor I'm working with is on Windows10 + Android tablet and they are also experiencing this same sequence of soft keys failing almost 90% of the time but it works 10% which is maddening.

Any help would be appreciated. We have 6000 lines of dialogue to edit.
