Eleven Rack "Unable to locate Digidesign hardware"

This has been an ongoing problem thru many software upgrades - the Eleven Rack works fine with my MacPro/HD system - it's something with the laptop. It just won't see the Eleven Rack box.

Running:

OSX 10.6.7
Pro Tools LE 8.0.5
Eleven firmware 2.0
MacBook Pro 2.33ghz Core Duo
