interrupted pb while editing

hi,
since a few days ago i have very annoying interruption while i´m editing or just selecting or placing the cursor anywhere to any regions. all edits are interrupting the playback - aahhhhhhh!

anyone?

What troubleshooting steps have you taken so far!!

osx 10.4.11 on a G5 - 2,5 dual with 3,5 Gigs ram
PTHD 7.4cs7

i have already tried all the standard steps (reinstall cs7, trashed all digi-data, updated tiger, checked outdated plugins, repaired disk permissions........)

if i uncheck *link timline and edit selection* playback isn´t interrupted anymore if i´m editing.. but my workflow is interrupted...
could it be that this behavior comes from using a new mighty mouse instead of the old mac mouse? this was the only change in my setup the last few weeks... no new software or anything.
everything worked really rocksolid - now it´s really a pita to edit anything. my client for now also really hates it..

perhaps i need to reinstall PT 7.4 and then run cs7?

i hate this kind of problems.

haven´t had dyn transport enabled... if dyn transport would be enabled editing wouldn´t interrupt playback.

i have had to de- and reinstall pro tools. it works again. this thing really was a strange one...
