Of course I'm speculating, from the outside it seems suspicious. Most people being let go at the executive level are allowed to "resign" rather than be let go. Perhaps heads need to roll when one of their cornerstone products, Pro Tools, fails to make any progress in two years.

Of course it's also possible he is simply leaving for greener pastures. Knowing nothing about him or his role in the organization I have no idea if this helps or hurts the Pro Tools cause.

User frustration surely could have helped caused his ouster, if that's what happened.

In my experience with corporations when a large, critical project is late and over budget, someone pays the price. Avid Everywhere still doesn't exist more than halfway through 2015. Again, no idea if the two events are related.

That's funny actually. One of my suggestions on the survey was that they fire Louis Hernandez.

This is may be why Avid has not been able to deliver the promised features in Pro Tools 12 yet, not yet (maybe now delaying to 2016 instead, kinda kicking the can down the road): Cloud Collaboration, track freeze, etc.

Unfortunately, this particular shake up needs to go all the way to the top.

On first reading I missed the part that the CEO is going to "directly oversee the products team and execution of the Avid Everywhere strategy until the Company identifies new leadership".

Wow. I suspect the Avid Everywhere project is way late and way over budget.
