Default bias peak pro 6 xt??

I wanted to see if anyone uses this program for mastering and for the plug ins that come with the mastering suite (pitch correction, eq, etc.)

I have the opportunity to get it for $500, half price. as of now I am working with the plug ins that came w/ PT le, I was going to upgrade the ozone but I saw this deal for the bias program.

Any advice is greatly appreciated, I posted something i regards to this a week or so ago but did nt exactly get an answer.

I need soemthing for mastering, and to make CDs (duplication ready)

any thoughts are greatly appreciated

Altough I don't use every plugin, the Noise Reduction (Sound Soap Pro) and the meters (Reveal) are very useful. Peak is a good addition to any audio software arsenal and at that price, I'd buy it.

Yes, the plug-ins are well worth it. The EQ is the most transparent I've ever used (other than FIR type, which is a different monkey), and it's absolutely fully flexible - any band can be any kind/freq/Q (I've never understood why the bands of some digital EQs have arbitrary freq limits!). The multiband compressors are quite nice. The NR is very good. Haven't had the chance to put the pitch changer through its paces. I don't use the de-Esser because I have Spitfish VST, and it's practically perfect (and free!).

If you work on restoring old cassette-based recordings, or anything where you need tons of high end with no color or harshness, the Bias EQ the ticket. Follow it with the NR-pro and everybody's happy.

I use PEAK for adding CD tracks to stereo files for JAM, and that part of mastering. I do the sonic stages of mastering in PT. After 15 yrs, I'm just more used to it.

Thanks for the advice. For the 50% off making it $499 I thought it was a good deal. also I needed a pitch corrector. Is this a step up from ozone or are they completely different monsters. still new to PT

Do the plug ins work in PT (ex. I can use the compression or pitch corrector in PT??)

thanks for the advice

That sounds like a good deal, personally I use the waves mastering suite and really like it.

For CD authoring I have not seen anything that comes close to Wave Burner which is a part of logic stuido 8. You might check that out as it is not much more and you get an amazing amount of tools with logic 8.

I don't know how great of price that is since I have never used peak. I have used logic 8 though and you can find deals right around that price point. It would be worth your while to check out the logic specs.

You can't use the plugins or virtual synths within ProTools. Only thing you can do is using the 003 as an audio interface. And not all plugins are available with Waveburner. But it's still pretty cool what you get for 500$. It also includes SoundtrackPro which is a decent audio editor à la Peak. For sound design, I think STP is even better than Peak.
