Default Pro Tools LE 8 on Mac OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion?

I realize that this may be playing with fire, but I would really like to upgrade from Lion (10.7.4) to Mountain Lion (10.8).

I am running Pro Tools LE 8.0.5, and have an MBox2. I was apprehensive to upgrade to Lion but Pro Tools has worked fine for me, no problems. I know it isn't supported anymore by Avid but I haven't had any issues.

I realize most of the Pro Tools world has left me behind and is running 9 or 10 at this point, but has anyone experimented with Pro Tools LE 8.0.5 on Mountain Lion? I'm curious as to whether it will work.

Thanks!

Nope.

You do have a good point, though. Everyone might do well to make sure they can even use ML before getting too excited. If you're still running a Core2Duo, chances are you can't use it anyway.

My Mac is compatible - Fall 2010 MB Pro, i7 processor.

No - PT LE 8 is NOT officially supported on Lion, but I've had no problems. Just hoping I can get lucky twice and have it work on Mountain Lion...

ha - goose - you first :)

I would hope my mac is compatible - I'm running 8LE on Lion right now with a 2.66 Core2Duo and have no problems (so far)

Dism - i didn't read that ML wouldn't work on the [email protected] you saying maybe not as well as, say, the i5,i7 line?

thanks!

ha - goose - you first :)

I would hope my mac is compatible - i've been running 8LE on Lion using a 2010 MacBook Pro 2.66 Core2Duo and haven't had any problems (so far)

I haven't read anywhere that ML won't work on a Core2Duo...are you saying maybe it just won't perform as well as the i5, i7 line?

Thanks!

Your 2010 MB Pro should be fine as far as Mountain Lion compatibility - http://www.apple.com/osx/how-to-upgrade/

Many of the older C2D models only have a 32 bit EFI. You would do well to check first.
