Digi 002...Time to take it to the next level..

Ok, I've been doing this production thing 4 about 7 years now and I think its time to take it to the next level. I got a Triton Studio, Motif 6, Mpc 4000, and a korg D1600. I also have a G4, now what I've been doing is recording straught from my Mpc through my mixer into my korg D1600. I never....never...ever, used my G4 to do S**t, as far a music production is concerned. The way I've been doing things is about 75% effective in my eyes. With that said, I want to know if I purchase the digi 002 will I be able to connect all of my instruments,ie: Mpc,triton, etc..and be able to control my mixes on pro tools? Need help takin it up a couple of notches..if not any recomendations out theres.

The 002 will certainly take signals from all your keyboards and such. It has 8 analog inputs out of the box(4 can also accept microphones). As for midi, you may want to look into some kind of midi merge/splitter box so you can have midi connected all the time. This depends on how you like to work. anybody's guess on whether your G$ will have enough power to run protools. Once you do have a suitable computer, you will quickly find that PT is capable of way more than any all-in-one unit like the D1600. You may also find that using software synths allows you to dump all but one keyboard which could streamline your hardware and work methods. In any case, PT and the 002 are very capable tools in the hands of anyone with the skill and knowledge to use them. Let the learning begin...
