Any suggestions for use with the Mac Pro cylinder. (Late 2013)

Thanks.
I am using two LGs 34", the best...

I do although one of my Dells just came down with cold solder joint disease so I replaced it with a 21.5" ASUS.

Font display is excellent & no issues there, looks like the Apple 30" only wider (w/ Nvidia GTX 980 & Mac Pro 5,1). Unlike another comment – I found zero difference in the native font resolution (Yosemite earlier, then El Capitan even better). Out of the box: literally plug & play. Tip: use the free App Store 'Display Menu' https://itunes.apple.com/au/app/disp...49083868?mt=12 to make on-the-fly resolution management much easier.

FWIW, am using with a second 4k 28" Samsung U28E85KRS4k display for video work. Both displays run together very well and conveniently mount together on a dual VESA pole. As others mentioned, the refresh rate on both VDUs is excellent & far reduced eye strain. They also work brilliantly with El Cap, Metal and the rest if the hardware makes use. Excellent colour features for those also interested in calibrating for photography, video etc.
If you had to choose between a 4k display (I would opt for the 31") or the 34" LG, which would you choose?

I should mention that a 4k monitor will put a load on the system that can affect your audio cpu power. There is very very little 4k material available outside of video editing where the end product will not be 4k and some video games. I honestly think the benefit is being oversold.

here:
Windows7x64...
PTHD12.3.1
from UltraHD "4k" to FullHD, same...
using the cheapest UHD HDMI video card, PNY GT 740 1GB.

from 3840x2160 to 1920x1080
4K is called 4k because its 4x times the pixels of FullHD.

8.29 MegaPixels vs. 2.07 MegaPïxels.

4x FullHD inside one, thats why UHD smaller than 40" is crazy.

Anyway...
No problems here.
Try another Soundcard...
Try another Video Card.
Try another OSX.
Try Bootcamp, Windows7x64

The advantage of 4K in ProTools is too see more at same time, not having to move windows/plugins around as much is less distracting, more efficient.
one of the magics of analog is being able to see everything simultaneously... touch everything, react faster.
the brain & the eyes are explorers.

Bob you sound like Truman Show Teacher. LOL! Jajajajajajaja

Juan,

So you are effectively running PT, on 4K on windows 7 64 with no issues? what monitor (TV?) are you using? Is it connected using HDMI 2 ? I'm sorry, about such basic questions, but I haven't found much info about this, anywhere....

I hadn't seen these before you mentioned it. I was looking for a little more screen real estate and unfortunately don't have room for dual monitors. This might do the trick. Pricy though.

Yes... 4K No issues. Samsung Un40ju7000,
Tv has HDMI 2.0 but the PNY GT740 only has HDMI 1.4 "30Hz at UHD."
Tv's don't have DisplayPort, but there is a Startech 4K DP to HDMI adapter.
I have one, just in case.

want to buy K620 but is DP only...
DVI does not work at UltraHD, but works with VGA adapter, for an emergency.
Only GTX970 or better have HDMI 2.0 "60Hz at UHD or Deep Color at UHD 4:4:4"
