Thank you to unKJE for the digi 002r drivers (avid driver 8.0.4b) that he posted for me a couple of days ago.
Unfortunately, it hasn't fixed my issue. (When trying to use the digi 002 rack with my Windows 7 x86 machine it just seems to keep crashing as soon as Cubase 5 tries to load - i get the same crashing with Ableton 9) this is with the avid driver 8.0.4b x86. Weirdly though Wavelab 6 works really well, no glitches whatsoever with this driver. Anyway I reverted back to the newer 9.0.5 driver and changed my firewire driver to the legacy windows driver and now Cubase runs well (Ableton also works well), instead now I am back to the original glitch i was getting when using Wavelab 6. (The cursor will not follow the audio when play is activated - the audio plays fine - the cursor just continuously loops a second or so from wherever I start the audio from). Has anyone else experienced this issue? Just wondering if perhaps there might be other digi 002 rack drivers for Windows 7 x86 that I could try? Is there a timeline of legacy drivers available from when the digi 002 was first released? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you phoen |

Hopefully you downloaded the 32 bit version, but........
The drivers for the 002 were baked into the installers for Pro Tools LE from version 6 thru version 8.0.1. If you can locate one of those installers, I would try with the following method: 1-power the 002 off 2-uninstall the current driver 3-run the LE installer(LE8.0.1) using the right-click(on Setup.exe) and Run as Administrator. When the installer tells you to connect the 002, turn the power on and wait about 10 seconds. Then follow the prompts to complete the installation, including a reboot of the computer. Since you are not going to actually run Pro Tools Le, it won't matter if you don't have an authorization code(of course, if you get one, you can certainly give it a try). 4-Since the 002 has never "played well" with sharing duties, go into Windows>Sound Properties and set Windows to use the onboard sound card for playback. This(hopefully) will allow Cubase to control the sample rate and buffer setting. If all else fails, I would sell the old beast and get something more current(it will almost certainly sound better anyway) ![]() BTW, since you mentioned using the Legacy firewire driver, I would suggest trying the TI Compliant driver. The Legacy driver never worked for me when I had my 003, but the TI Compliant driver worked fine.

Hi albee1952,
Thank you for the detailed information and guidelines for rolling everything back to earlier 002 rack drivers. I will give that all a try and report back as to how it goes. Cheers phoen |
