Default Need Cursor Help!

Is there a preference or technique that will make
the cursor go across all tracks without clicking at the
top ruler section? If I click on a single region or a
single track, I get the small cursor just on that track
unless I go to the top. But if I try to make small movements
to the line in the top section it's a hassle.

I just want to check sometimes if the kick is lined up with
the bass guitar etc... But I would love to click on the
bass region and the line appear accross the entire screen.
Does this make sense? I can't get the preciseness from the top...
Thanks,
Adrian
P.S. Can't find it in the book or the PDFs Sorry!

You could enable the "All" group briefly to check. Try that and see if it works out for you.

Well, the all button will not allow me
to have the line appear from top to bottom
AND let me individually move a single region
I'm trying to line up. I need that line
to "stay there" while I nudge, drag, & line up
problem regions.

The Mackie HDR has this feature built right in.
I guess I could use a Sharpie on the screen!

Thanks,
Adrian

Maybe marker would be enough? Twice numeric enter and you're done...

Yes,

I also find myself often using the "Shift" key while clicking on the left mouse button to select multiple selections of tracks or for dragging and extending/reducing those selections for nudging and/or alignment. Everyone has their different ways of working but that is one that I use a lot.
Just a thought

Len

A temporary marker is what I use too. The little line that moves along with the selector in the rulers bar lets you get pretty accurate. I also find the temporary "ALL" group setting to on handy.

Is there a "shortcut" to activate ALL groups?
I know I'll chose all, then I'll forget to turn it
off before I move a region or I'll alt click a fader
them I'm toast.
Thanks,
Adrian
