Can't Play AvDn Video Files in PT - SOLVED!
Hi,
I'm using an old OS & PT for numerous reasons. OS 10.14.6 Mojave PT Ultimate 2019.6.0 2018 Mac Mini w/32gb Ram 3.2 GHz Intel Core i7 I've been using DNxHD video for years with no problem. The cutting room I'm working with right now is using the latest Media Composer and the DNxHD codec is being spit out as AvDN per quick time player movie inspector. I've downloaded & installed the most recent Pro Video Formats 2.2.1 which has all the codecs. Quicktime can play the files fine, PT can't. The movie is solid green in PT. I suspect it's this version of protools but I'm not sure. Maybe something needs to be dumped from the library folders after the new codec install? Anyone experienced this or know what the solution is? I really don't have the time to upgrade right now. My perpetual license is current so $$ is not the issue. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. I tried to find the file compatibility doc for this PT version but couldn't. TIA Last edited by Ginger; 08-07-2024 at 01:02 PM. Reason: Solved |

Re: Can't Play AvDn Video Files in PT - SOLVED!
For anyone with the same/similar issue - despite having what I thought was the necessary codec package, it didn't work.
I needed Avid CodecsLE 2.7.6 - this is for those in Mojave or older. Here's the link in case it helps anyone else: https://my.avid.com/esd/Product/Download/2397 |
