importing MPC 2000xl midi file ?
HI iv'e been trying this for weeks now and still no luck
I sequence on an MPC and i want to import those sequences into pro tools. I've tried this with floppy and with zip drives stil no luck. So lately all i've been doing is recording my MPC stuff in as audio, but i'd rather sketch out an arangement on the MPC and then ad to it from pro tools. I've done a search on this topic with no luck, i'd realy like to hear from someone who has actually got the MPC to work with DIGI 001. |

Hey jack -
I'm using a program called MIDI Typer. It works great. You can download it at: http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/Midi_Typer/ Good luck! |

Re: importing MPC 2000xl midi file ?
Are you on a mac or PC?
If you are on a pc save your midi file to the floppy and import the midi file into Protools.Make sure you remap your midi outputs to your mpc for playback each track to the same channel it was recorded on. Peace Breez ------------------ I really remember how to SMILE....: )

Re: importing MPC 2000xl midi file ?
you could buy a floppy drive
Or record the midi coming out the MPC into protools... I do rember something like PT can't do more than 1 midi track at once but I am not sure if this is true.. but anyways assign the drums to midi and set a channel etc... and record away if needed or wanted set it up so it records a track at a time.. I use a mpc for seqencing and record my stuff 1 or 2 tracks at a time.. thanks to a patch bay. |
