audio loss - crackling -mbox powerbook help!

hi.

i'm in the middle of a recording session on my mbox. pt 6.4 LE on a powerbook 10.3.7 using a lacie fw800 external to record audio. for some reason, PT cannot read the audio that it recorded. it was doing fine, but now, just replays cracking noises etc. i tried importing the audio into a new session, and it just recorded the noises. other programs (like jam and the mac os) can read and play back the files just fine. i use PT all the time, and this has never happened before. if someone could help me out ASAP, i would be very grateful. i am going to try burning a disc of the audio files and importing the audio from the disc. hopefully, that works. i just want to make sure this audio loss doesn't happen in the future.

It could be a problem with your Mbox actually, seems like the files are fine if other apps play them (unless you use the Mbox for all audio output, in which case disregard this theory). The USB port on the back of my Mbox has gotten loose over the past year and sometimes it'll cause static or crackles if it loses connection - try reconnecting the cable, or try a different USB cable if you have one that is similar, could be the cable too.
