Awesome DAW, it's what Pro Tools could have done, if they ever listen to their customers
I own and use PTHD 11, but I just started using Studio One and its a great program

Used to go back n forth between logic n studio one for composition. V3 seems to have added more trinkets for composers. The scratch pad is nice for scoring to picture. It still looks like it's lacking for actual mixing of records and forget about post. No adjustable pan laws. Midi looks the same which is basic still. Maybe they upgraded the internal sounds and plugins. They are not too good. Love the GUI. Still never figured out how to make a mono VI sound bounce to mono. always have to split a stereo file for mono sounds. No improvement in metering either.

Nothing they added is anything I need in Pro Tools HD, but it looks like an improvement for composers.

looks can be deceiving. many are none too happy after purchase. although they keep saying "i purchased to support presonus... but" (same thing you hear on these forums... less the 'presonus' part)

remember the grass is ALWAYS greener on the other side of the fence.

cheers

Frankly beside being able to select the time line for the marker instead of dragging on the timeline to select the region of the part you want to copy, you've been able to do this for a long time in PT, by selecting the all in your group section, then making the selection on the time line, ctrl+C (command+C) and then selecting the point you wanted to copy the whole thing on the timeline and ctrl+V (command+V) and voila. SD13 only took 1 second out of the workflow in pt, which is select the all groups, click on the first measure of the marker drag to the first measure of the next marker, if you have your markers set. Nothing really ooooh aaaaaaaah about that.

On the other hand the scratch pad is pretty cool, although you could always just go further into the timeline and make a copy of what you wanted to work on. Just makes it easier I guess.

Default Studio One V3 - looks like an awesome update

Ok, so your in Post and you have hundreds of tracks, have folder tracks is a must after you've used them, if you just want to stay the same old same old , then cool, but to dismiss all the other great features S1 has given the end user, and it's only v3 says a lot how they are listening to their clients, and implementing work flow enhancements, so click away.
Look I've used PT since Audio Media card era, and what made. It so awesome was they tried to constantly improve the product, and where open to what the end user wanted.
No big deal, I still need PT 11 HD for all my post work, but for the creative side, I've made the switch to other DAWs
Cheers
